Busy weekend..

I'm just going to post a bunch of pictures and do a big post later this week when Caroline turns 6 MONTHS OLD!! I can't believe it.

We did a tour of the new hospital opening by our house. Here's a picture with HE Buddy during the tour.

Yay teeth. I finally got a picture. Ignore the drool.

Showing off her pouty lip at the Bobcat football game.

In her new duck tub.

In jeans for the first time.

Trying on part of her Halloween costume.

In memory of...the rocking chair

We woke up this morning to discover that someone stole the rocking chair off of our front porch. I guess they needed it more than we did. We bought the chair when Caroline was about a week old to have somewhere to feed her during the middle of the night. We spent many hours feeding, burping, and rocking in that chair. When Caroline started sleeping through the night, we moved it to the front porch. Caroline loves to be outside. After a very hot Summer, we were looking forward to spending a lot more time outside on the rocking chair. Well, that's not going to happen now. Some people just suck.

Here are some pictures that I found of the rocking chair.

(Almost) 25 Weeks..

I need to start coming up with better titles pretty soon.

I cannot believe that Caroline is so close to being 6 months old! I know this is cliche but time is flying by so fast! Miss Caroline is still not rolling anymore but she can spin around on her tummy. She is enjoying eating solids! She loves green beans right now. The food processor that I ordered came in so I made some green beans and carrots. I thawed some of the green beans yesterday and attempted to feed them to her..she hated them. I guess it was because of the texture..it's hard to get green beans completely smooth. I'll have to keep trying them..I hope she learns to love them.

I'll do a longer post when she turns 6 months.

(Almost) 24 weeks..

Caroline turns 24 weeks old on Tuesday but I actually had time to upload pics and post a blog today. I really feel like she has changed so much this past week. She has found her voice and loves to talk (yell) in public now. She lets us know when she's frustrated or bored. She's getting better at sitting unassisted though she still doesn't do it for long periods of time.

Her sleeping for the past week has not been good. She's waking up 1-3 times a night now and it's getting harder to get her to go back down. I think she might be having gas issues again and it's probably from the solids. This week we've done carrots and apples. I think it's from the apples. Speaking of solids, I'm going to start making my own baby food once the food processor thing I ordered gets here. I'm looking forward to it..it should be fun..and cheap.

And now for the pictures..

Unfortunately her outfit did not help the Texans today.

Videos..

As I mentioned in a post a month ago, I got a video camera for my birthday. We've taken a ton of videos but I've had a problem uploading them because they're in the wrong format. I was able to upload them to photobucket but then I had issues getting them from photobucket to blogger. I think I've figured it out.

Anyway, here's a video of Caroline on her 5 month birthday. Please excuse my mommy voice. Isn't it funny how her hair is trained to go in a pony tail. Even after baths it sticks up like that.

Here's a video from today of Caroline playing in her new walker (I know, I know..walkers are evil). She seems to like it so far..even though her feet don't quite touch the ground.

23 weeks old..

Miss Caroline turned 23 weeks old yesterday. We are definitely in the throws of teething right now. She has not been her normal self for a few days and she keeps running a low grade fever every evening. Anything she can get her hands on (and her hands themselves) goes into her mouth. I haven't been able to get a picture of that first tooth yet because it's still barely visible.

We've been practicing sitting over the past week and she's become pretty good at tripod sitting. She can balance herself for a few seconds without her hands down but she seems to freak out and fall backwards. She is still not rolling from back to belly but she's very close. Here are some pictures from the past week.

My dad went to Minnesota for work and bought this onesie for Caroline.
Practicing sitting with the Boppy

We bought her a mesh feeder and she seems to like it. We bought some frozen melon and veggies to try in it.
At her first Texas State football game. She was so good. We stayed for the whole game and fireworks and she didn't fuss at all.

She loves reading books!

First tooth and First fever..

Caroline's first tooth broke through yesterday. I knew she was showing all of the signs of teething but thought it was a bit early for a tooth to actually come in. I guess I was wrong. There's not much to see yet but I can definitely feel it. We are very greatful that we made it through the first tooth breaking through without any sleepless nights or major fussiness. (knock on wood!) Maybe she'll be as laid back about teething as she is about everything else.

She experienced her first fever last night. After her bath Mario put her in her jammies and was feeding her when he noticed that she was shivering and her hands were blue. She was dozing off and we tried to wake her but she kept falling right back to sleep (she's usually asleep by that time anyway) so we had a minor freak out and called the pedi's after hours line. Her pedi called back within 5 minutes and we explained her symptoms. She told us to take her temperature so we did and it was 102. She said to give her Tylenol and come in first thing in the morning. We gave her the Tylenol and she was back to normal within 30 minutes. She woke up this morning and was her normal, smiling self.

We went to the pedi's office and I felt kind of dumb for taking her in because she was perfectly fine. They couldn't find anything wrong with her but said that several viruses have been going around. If she's fever free for the rest of the day she can go back to daycare tomorrow.

I guess the bonus of taking her to the pedi's office was that we got to see how much she weighs. She's up to 16lbs 9oz.

I hope the fever was just a fluke because we're planning on taking Caroline to her first Bobcat football game on Saturday and we have free tickets for the Round Rock Express game on Monday.
