Memorial Weekend and 8 weeks old

Mario's family came up for Memorial weekend. It was nice to have free hands. Caroline passed out smiles to everyone and was very well behaved.

She turned 8 weeks old yesterday and she's just becoming more and more fun every day! I love this age (well, I've loved every age actually). She has been kind of fussy in the mornings because she's fighting taking naps but it's nothing we can't deal with. Two of the past four nights she's slept for at least 6 hours in a row.

Caroline starts daycare on Monday and I called and talked to them today. They seemed excited to have her so that's making me feel better. She has her 2 month appointment (and shots) on Tuesday and I'm anxious to find out how much she weighs.

She loves baths!

7 weeks old..

Miss Caroline is 7 weeks old now. I'm back at work and it hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be. I think that's partly because Mario is staying home with her on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and I work from home on Tuesday and Thursday. It's also because I've been pretty busy at work. Caroline starts daycare on June 1st and for some reason I am dreading it. I guess it's just the thought of strangers watching her that makes me anxious. I hope they take good care of her and pay enough attention to her.

Caroline is much more alert these days. It's so fun. She's very expressive with her face and eyebrows just like her mommy. She's been smiling more. We're still dealing with the newborn acne and it seems to be getting worse. It doesn't seem to bother her though and her pedi assures us that it's normal. Anyway, now what you're here for..pictures...

Here's Caroline with my sister, who has been watching her while I'm working from home

She loves to sit in this spot and stare at the blinds

This was our first attempt at getting her to wear a headband..it didn't last long
I'm only posting this because she looks cute

Mother's Day Weekend...

We went to Pearsall for Mother's Day weekend. It was Caroline's first time spending the night away from home. She was great! She slept the entire way there. She napped through all of the loud talking and laughing and she stayed on her regluar waking schedule during the night. She was a little fussy when we got home but I think it's because she was over stimulated.

This was before we made the trip but I think it's cute
Yikes..it was 100 degrees when we got there

6 weeks old..

Miss Caroline is 6 weeks old today. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. She's smiling now but I haven't been able to catch it on camera yet..and we haven't determined how to make her smile..it seems pretty random still. She has a bunch of newborn acne right now but her pediatrician says it's normal and should go away in a few weeks.

Here's a picture of my Mother's Day flowers from Mario.

5 weeks..

I have my post partum ob appointment on Friday and I'm going to take Caroline by Mario's office and then mine so our coworkers can see her. I'm leaving her in the carrier and there won't be any touching.

We're driving to Pearsall this weekend for Mother's Day and it will be our first time spending the night somwhere else. We're taking the pack n play so she'll be sleeping where she's used to sleeping. Hopefully she does well while we're there.

Here are some pictures from the last week.
